condition - C+. It is very difficult to describe this poster. Yes
it is restored, but when looking at it overall, it is not too bad.
It seems that the poster was very brittle to start with. Because
of its poor condition, it was mounted on rice paper and canvas,
and it was restored. There is quite a bit of restoration where the
creases were. The restoration was done by airbrushing that small
parts that were missing. It is worth noting that none of the missing
parts were important sections of the poster. These are mostly comprised
of areas within the background and within the folds.
Do
click on the image to see more details. We photographed it at 12:00
noon, and this photograph does show more clearly where the restoration
is. The light is deceptive though, because the poster is very bright
and has nice colors - the colors are not washed out.
There
is another photograph taken indoors with a flash. The photograph
has not been modified, except for a slight curving of the shadows
in Photoshop. We had to curve the shadows because the poster was
so big, that the flash couldn't reach all the way to the top. As
you can see, it looks okay. If this poster was properly framed and
displayed, it would look spectacular.
This
is a scarce poster, and you don't see it everyday.
