To all concerned by the love of Magic…

It’s my great privilege to know Vik & Fabrini, for over 13 years, when I became part of the world famous “Crazy Horse Saloon” in Paris. They were the first ones to congratulate me, as a new member of this unique family. They were my “older brothers”, being already working there for four full years.

Vik is a crazy and wonderful man, in love with magic and soccer – which is nothing weird from a Brazilian guy… Fabrini is also in love with magic, but is much more of a calm person, loaded too with sense of humour, and a real talent for drawing, and sculpting.

At the Crazy horse, we have two shows a day, seven days a week, and a lot of free time in between each show. During these pauses, we talk, watch films on TV (unless there is a soccer match going on!!!). In those occasions, we just watch Vik going crazy about every minute of the game, and that’s a show in itself!

Six years ago, one night, Fabrini asked me if I had any favourite books or authors in the “cartoon world”. I had a few, and the next day I remembered to bring some books by “Quino” amongst others. He was delighted with them. A few days later, to my great surprise, he showed me his first “cartoon”. Of course, I could feel some “inspiration” behind the pencil, but a new idea was there, coming directly from a scene inspired by a “Crazy Horse gag situation”…The idea was “Pure Fabrini”…

I encouraged him to go on, and he did, beautifully. Nearly every day that followed, he came up with new funny and clever gags. In a matter of months, the progress was unbelievable. The style became more and more “Fabrini”. I was so happily proud to have given him the first “Magic Breath”.

Somebody, said one day: “Anyone in the world has a better talent for something more than others…In this life each person just has to find what this talent is.” That is so true with Fabrini!

A few years later, I told him that he had to put his funny drawings together in a book form or a calendar, but he had no connections. I introduced him to Georges Proust, and together, they produced a book which today is a rare collector’s item.

Recently, Fabrini found an agreement with another giant performer from the “Crazy Horse”, Norm Nielsen. Norm, superlative artist, and magic maestro of posters, old and new, is currently taking care of the “limited edition” of some of the creations of Fabrini. This is a new venture, and such a good one, as talent plus talent equals talent, and ultimate pleasure in artistry.

The founder of the “Crazy Horse”, Mister Bernardin, would have been so happy to see this happening, and I, little “Gaetan”, I am so happy, not only to share this “moment of pure delight” with you, but also, somehow, to have been the one, who incidentally, planted the seed where it should have been…

With all my love and much more,

Most sincerely,

Gaetan Bloom
