Professional
Close-Up
by
Leo Behnke
In
order to describe the contents of the book, here is part of
its Preface written by Mike Rogers:
"It
seems there are three types of professional close-up magicians.
There's the full-time professional who works all the time,
and indeed, does make a fine living with his craft. There's
the semi-professional who openly admits to having a nine-to-five
job, but continues with his close-up magic to earn what he
can on the side. Then, sadly, there's' the full-time professional
who DOESN'T work, nor does he earn much of a living from his
magic. Yet he admits to being nothing but a "professional" close-up
magician. We all know him. This magician plunges on with a
devil-may-care approach. When his no-guts, no-glory path works,
he pays his bills. When it doesn't, he blunders on without
knowing why others work and he doesn't. He knows he has perfected
his
sleight of hand and he knows his props are well polished, yet
he remains a professional in name only.
In
this book Leo Behnke tells how to resolve and correct the problem.
This tome, though of value to ALL close-up magicians, is directed
at the third magician in my list.
Leo
has seen it all, and in the pages that follow he teaches the
reader the concept of THINKING like a professional close-up
magician. That's the key...THINKING LIKE A PRO."
This
book tells you about how to hone your persona, putting together
your repertoire, venues, contracts, etc. (Softbound
